Lying on the floor, chin on folded hands, homework book open in front.
You push the text aside and take its place, your face also unreadable.
          Mirror-image:

Lying on the floor, chin on folded hands, eyes open.
Gaze to gaze, barely a breath apart – reaching with just one finger will brush your blank skin.
          You there:

Lying on the floor, chin on folded hands, mouth open.
You lean closer, heat rising – fine teeth, smooth lips, death and life poised.
          Vulnerable and venerable:

Lying on the floor, chin on folded hands, homework book open in front.

And you gone.

  1. Oh how I am continuously astonished by the inner workings of your mind.

  2. Chilling. And so sensual. Sometimes your words are so hypnotic I forget to breath. Lucky it was short. The power of words, eh? Dangerous.

    • You should probably keep breathing. I hear it’s good for you.

  3. A glimpse of a former (or future) you?
I can only wonder what purview this has on the psyche.
